GhostVFX: Maersk MyHR white board presentation

Mærsk MyHR from Ghost VFX on Vimeo.

This time I got the task to draw on white board with markers. It's analog and it's fun! Maersk is one of the biggest companies right now in Denmark with over 70 000 employes in 130 countries. Together with extremely talented people from GhostVFX we made it and I think it looks cool!

And yes, the hand that you see in mine :)

Hope you will like it to.

Leading action body parts

Hi everyone, this time I decided to practice action lines and leading body parts in these action. As many artist say, the part of the body which leads the action will always define the very quality of the same action. So in this case i was paying more attention to understanding what figure does and which part of the body leads particular action. Some figures you see here are made up, but most of them are live action poses performed by my collegues during the day.

Page filled with poses.

Here I indicated the main curve which goes through the body of the figure.

Here I left the curve and also indicated main body part which leads the action.

It is really fun exercise. Recommend to try for everyone.

Sunday evening with pencil

Today was a nice evening watching movie and sketching on paper. Felt alive again when touched the paper with pencil. For those who work in this industry probably knows exactly what I mean.

Here are couple of pages from today:

GhostVFX: Neuro science visuals

Not so long ago I was asked to visualise some of scientific descriptions about how our brains works. It was very interesting experience. These are just few examples from what I came up with. Mostly its just color variations.

Live WebCam painting: Iceland, Jökulsárlón

Today I have decided to try something new. Some time ago i came across an idea to try to paint live while being at the same time in the other part of the world. One of the ways is to use webcams which shows live view with all present weather conditions and movement which goes at exact time down there in the location. Sure, there can be one disappointment for painter when camera is set in the specific way, and that's already enforced cropping of landscape or so. But I suggest not to be disappointing and actually there are some pretty well set cameras like the the Jökulsárlón location, which I painted today. Unexpectedly by painting this little picture i found out that it brings this amazing thrill feelings which happens when you are in the real plain air. Clouds moves, everything moves, wiggles... that's exciting!

So here is the result.

Location: Jökulsárlón, Iceland.
Time: 2:20 pm - 2:54 ( Danish time )
Actual painting location: Office in Copenhagen, Denmark.

My Painting. The view will be different when you will check it in the webcam link above, but that's the beauty of it.

Egekilde poster making off

Pre-Final poster design. Final poster design was made by another company in Copenhagen. The aim was to create impressive and spectacular energy splash which had to communicate freshness of this new water bottle which was about to appear in market at the time.

Tree crack close-up. My task was to create tree crack as real as possible in given time. Later on it was used in short video. The technique i used is basically painting all crack in very rough brush strokes to get the basic shape and depth. After client approved i did detailing of the painting and used tree textures to get density that i need. All was photographed by our people in Ghost, almost no other ref.pictures were used.

Different tree crack stages.
